Happy with my 10w purchase!
I already had a Creality 3d printer and knew of the company, so even though there were cheaper options out there I am glad I went with the falcon 10w. Cuts through 3mm basswood with no issues, and I don't think it took 20 minutes to set up.
Things I learned that may be helpful:
1. The written instructions aren't entirely clear that you have to feed the belt through the wheels, I use the install video to put it together. Otherwise installation was easy with all tools included.
2. I wanted to use LaserGRBL, but get LightBurn even if just for the 30 day free trial. You can use GRBL but LB is much more intuitive and better tutorials out there.
3. For 3mm basswood, to cut I found 10mm/s speed and 100% power with 4 passes worked best for me using air assist. I still messing around with engraving and don't have a go-to setting for that yet.
4. Get an air assist, it definitely makes a big difference in the cuts and engraving.
5. Get the honeycomb to cover the area or a piece of sheet metal from your local home improvement store. I have some light etching on my concrete patio now that my wife isn't thrilled about!
